Even changing just the knobs or handles can greatly improve the appearance of your kitchen. Old wooden cabinets look dull and boring. Brighten them up by applying a fresh coat of paint on the cabinet doors. Do the same with your ceiling and walls. You’ll be surprised at how much it can freshen up an old room.
Consider replacing your light fixtures. Check out lighting specialty stores or department stores for modern lighting fixtures. There are usually a lot of choices and you can pick the inexpensive ones. As for your carpets, you don’t have to buy new ones. You can invest in a good carpet cleaner that can be found in home and grocery stores. You’ll be surprised at how clean carpets can lift up the appearance of your house.
Replace kitchen and bathroom taps. New ones look pleasing to the eyes. Consider replacing the seat of your toilets, too. Combine new lighting fixtures, taps, and toilet seats, and you’ll feel like you walked into a new bathroom!
Change the curtains and blinds inside your house to improve its appearance, inside and out. Old curtains make a house feel stuffy and look drab and old. Change them twice a year. Consider building window boxes where you can place fresh flowers. These will make your house look better and brighter especially during spring and summer.
